Abstract
Synonymy learning is a very important part of English vocabulary teaching and plays an important role in language learning, but it is an important problem for high school students' English learning. Although they have spent a lot of time on the synonym teaching, the resulthas not been very satisfactory, especially in the shape and composition. Thus, synonymy teaching has become a difficult task for high school English teachers. In this paper, the three basic principles of classroom teaching are put forward under the guidance of "cognitive discovery" and the theoretical guidance (ie, taking students as the center; using English as appropriate and using the mother tongue as appropriate; distinguishing synonyms must be clear, accurate and easy to understand); To discuss, analyze and summarize the similarities and differences of synonyms; teachers summarize and illustrate; through practice to consolidate the use of synonyms).
